Bryan Lewis (22-11) of Erie PA defeated Vic Horvath (18-16), of Detroit MI, four games to one in the world series. This is Lewis's sixth Star Tournament win.

Lewis defeated the team of Dave Johnson & Bill Fenlon three games to one in one semi-final. Horvath defeated Mike Parker three games to two in the other semi-final.

Johnson-Fenlon advanced by winning shootouts from Gene Abood & Mike Kman.

Lewis (15-9) finished with the best regular-season record.
