Brian Smith (21-9) of Sand Lake NY defeated Ben Leong ( 16-15) of Gaithersberg VA three games to none in the world series. Smith now has two Star Tournaments wins.

Smith defeated Bruce Layton three games to two in one semi-final. Leong defeated Harry Flawd three games to two in the other semi-final.

Smith (15-7) and Flawd (13-11) won their respective divisions, Flawd by head-to-head over Layton. (Flawd & Layton played a shootout, won by Flawd, which only would have counted had Gordon Deane won his last game, still in progress, to create a 3-way tie for 1st; he didn’t.)
